Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 7th minute Elias Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrício de Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 10 minutes, Deivid Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Irundi EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Deivid Damião was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Cassipore's zone, Paulinho Maranhense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardinho Viana came out of the goal and Paulinho Maranhense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cassipore's Bernardinho Viana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Cassipore from getting a goal against them. Bernardinho Viana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulinho Maranhense's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Elias Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Fabrício de Castro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alfredinho Aparecido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gualter Ferraz during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Irundi EC booed when Cassipore was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gualter Ferraz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 46 minutes, Paulinho Maranhense made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Cassipore's Bernardinho Viana tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.

Alfredinho Aparecido could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Fabrício de Castro made a huge save. Elias Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrício de Castro having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulinho Maranhense in the 60th minute of play forced Cassipore's goalkeeper Bernardinho Viana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deivid Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho Viana having to interfere. When Deivid Damião came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Irundi EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deivid Damião couldn't finish the play. Fabrício de Castro made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Alfredinho Aparecido sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Cassipore's Fabrício de Castro threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Elias Sousa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 77 played minutes Irundi EC got a freekick which was hit by Severino Guimarães. Paulinho Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulinho Maranhense struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Bernardinho Viana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Irundi EC. 92 minutes into the match, Deivid Damião notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Cassipore's Bernardinho Viana. Bernardinho Viana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Irundi EC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cassipore for a fine match.
