Ezequiel Matos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 16th match minute, Poti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato Correia to maneuver through the defense. If Carlos Eduardo Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Genílson Hermes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Poti's Carlos Eduardo Moreno got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

56 minutes into the match, Pigon Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Eduardo Moreno came free, but Tiago Gabriel Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dorival Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genílson Hermes having to interfere. Flavinho Pernambucano kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Carlos Eduardo Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Tiago Gabriel Pereira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 74 minutes Poti's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Washington Paes who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Eduardo Moreno in the 81st minute of play forced Pigon Football Club's goalkeeper Tiago Gabriel Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
