Severino Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleiton Sá in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Wesley Correia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cleiton Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 minutes, Miguel Pinheiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Parado and the Luzerna players grew even worse after the yellow card. 18 minutes into the game, one of Parado:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Lino Araújo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Nicolas Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Parado booed when Luzerna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ademir de Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd match minute, Parado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romário de Amorim to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the game, Luzerna's Nicolas Varela nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Severino Gonçalves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0.

57 minutes into the game, Wesley Correia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Parado's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Luzerna the free kick. After a rather tough play, Parado's Wesley Correia got a free kick in the 57th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Parado's zone, Nicolas Varela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Gonçalves came out of the goal and Nicolas Varela tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Severino Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Varela in the 60th minute of play. Wesley Correia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giuseppe Campidelis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. When Thiago Alcântara fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luzerna's protests and gave Thiago Alcântara a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th minute, Thiago Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denílson de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giuseppe Campidelis having to interfere. Ademir de Lima's late challenge caught a Parado's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ademir de Lima helped the player get up and apologised. Luzerna's Nicolas Varela got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ademir de Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 79th minute of the match, Cristian Damião sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Giuseppe Campidelis showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. If Nicolas Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
