When Samuel Recife fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estrela Dourada F.C.'s protests and gave Samuel Recife a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Estrela Dourada F.C.'s Samuel Recife got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 37th minute Celso Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nildo Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ruy Tepedino was the one to do the kick off. When Samuel Recife came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Estrela Dourada F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuel Recife couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Estrela Dourada F.C. getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Dênis Moura hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ruy Tepedino in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cezary Cichewski saved Estrela Dourada F.C. from getting behind. Nildo Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vito Sena in the 62nd minute of play. 3-0 became the score in the 67th minute when Celso Brito elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Gustavo Moreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Cezary Cichewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cezary Cichewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruy Tepedino in the 81st minute of play. If Vito Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Chapadinho defense, Vito Sena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nildo Romero. The Chapadinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nildo Romero should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Estrela Dourada F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chapadinho had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
