After 6 played minutes Itatuba SS got a freekick which was hit by Olavo de Andrade. When the match had been going on for 7 minutes Hortêncio Vander shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Rubens Quirino when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. Eduardo Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geovanni Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Douglas de Senna charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Douglas de Senna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 10 played minutes Rio Minas United got a freekick which was hit by Douglas de Senna. In the 11th minute Aloísio Recife shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aloísio Recife received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Eduardo Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Itatuba SS's goal looked a bit too open when Douglas de Senna came free, but Rubens Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aloísio Recife took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eduardo Leão. Eduardo Leão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Itatuba SS getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Olavo de Andrade hit a great ball. Geovanni Mello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Eduardo Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geovanni Mello scored 0-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eduardo Leão, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Eduardo Leão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aloísio Recife's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Eduardo Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanni Mello in the 31st minute of play. Olavo de Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Aloísio Recife left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itatuba SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. When Itatuba SS's Aloísio Recife in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rio Minas United's goalie prevented a goal. Eduardo Leão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aloísio Recife went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. After 47 played minutes Itatuba SS got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Lima. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geovanni Mello stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aloísio Recife recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 52nd match minute, Rio Minas United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Paiva to maneuver through the defense. Aloísio Recifes short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Eduardo Leão to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Eduardo Leão came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Itatuba SS's Olavo de Andrade. But to his dismay, Olavo de Andrade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. 62 minutes into the match, Rio Minas United's goalkeeper Eduardo Leão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aloísio Recife. Rio Minas United's Tony Diniz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Teodoro Lima, made in the 64th minute of the game. In the 65th minute, Baltazar de Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aloísio Recife in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eduardo Leão, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Aloísio Recife fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Leão having to interfere. Geovanni Mello who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Eduardo Leão when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Eduardo Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aloísio Recife in the 76th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the game, Baltazar de Sousa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eduardo Leão. Baltazar de Sousa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. With his leg Eduardo Leão managed to avoid a goal in the 83rdth minute, when Itatuba SS's Aloísio Recife fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Itatuba SS's Geovanni Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 89th play minute Aloísio Recife came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Eduardo Leão. 0-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanni Mello in the 92nd minute of play forced Rio Minas United's goalkeeper Eduardo Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute Geovanni Mello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
