Amílton Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Itatuba SS's Dudu Duarte got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Dudu Duarte put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jardel Matos. In the 20th minute, Dudu Duarte left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itatuba SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juarês Albuquerque in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Amílton Maia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Benê Chaves made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulão Barbosa during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Itatuba SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Juarês Albuquerque was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jardel Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juarês Albuquerque might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jardel Matos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juarês Albuquerque ran back to his position shaking his head.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amílton Maia made a kick off. Jardel Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dudu Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Itatuba SS's Juarês Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 63 minutes, Víktor Tróia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portuguesa Lions and the Itatuba SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the match had been going on for 64 minutes, Itatuba SS's Egídio Munhoz got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jardel Matos. Dudu Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jardel Matos having to interfere. Luiz Fabiano de Lima hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Juarês Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The goalkeeper, Jardel Matos, was totally fooled by Itatuba SS's Egídio Munhoz, who 81 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Dudu Duarte in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jardel Matos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dudu Duarte in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jardel Matos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Portuguesa Lions's Jardel Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dudu Duarte in the 88th minute of play. Juarês Albuquerque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Portuguesa Lions's goalkeeper Jardel Matos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juarês Albuquerque. In the 93rd match minute, Portuguesa Lions was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlinhos Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. Juarês Albuquerque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juarês Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 101st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
