Rio Minas United's Eduardo Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Augusto Tande in the 17th minute of play. Douglas de Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 27 minutes, Danilo Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sopro F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Danilo Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The excitement rose when Rio Minas United's Zé Roberto Paiva after 34 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Sopro F.C.'s goalkeeper to hold. Rio Minas United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sopro F.C. the free kick. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zé Augusto Tande made a kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Sopro F.C.'s goalkeeper Arthur de Brito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Douglas de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Zé Augusto Tande kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eduardo Leão. That made the score 1-2 in the 56 minute of play. When Clemente Vaz fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sopro F.C.'s protests and gave Clemente Vaz a yellow card for diving instead. Clemente Vaz kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match.
