Spectators: 7003 (Terracing: 5378, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tony Diniz kicked off to start the match. Novo Baependy's Almir Santos came free and shot a quick shot against goal 4 minutes in the game, fortunately Eduardo Leão had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 5th minute, Almir Santos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eduardo Leão was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Hermínio Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Leão having to interfere. Rio Minas United's Eduardo Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Teles in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of Novo Baependy booed when Rio Minas United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Douglas de Senna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Nelsinho Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Novo Baependy's zone, Douglas de Senna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelsinho Tavares came out of the goal and Douglas de Senna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Douglas de Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 42 played minutes Rio Minas United got a freekick which was hit by Sandrinho Miranda. Eduardo Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermínio Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

The wind increased when Hermínio Teles made the kick off in the second half. Christian de Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Tony Diniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Nelsinho Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eduardo Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermínio Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Wellington Tasso made in the 61st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Rio Minas United's Tony Diniz. If Hermínio Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute Almir Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduardo Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th minute, Tony Diniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute, Edgard Ferreira sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Rio Minas United's Eduardo Leão didn't even have to move. After 86 played minutes Rio Minas United got a freekick which was hit by Tony Diniz. In the 92nd minute, Tony Diniz fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a rather tough play, Novo Baependy's Diego Meira got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Rio Minas United were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
