Nelsinho Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nelsinho Tavares made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Vito Sena sent off a good shot on target. Celso Brito blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nelsinho Tavares having to make a save. A collision led to Estrela Dourada F.C. getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Nando Nunes hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Novo Baependy defense, Celso Brito kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nelsinho Tavares. The Novo Baependy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nelsinho Tavares should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Estrela Dourada F.C. booed when Novo Baependy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Ferreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celso Brito in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nelsinho Tavares saved Novo Baependy from getting behind. Celso Brito scored 4-1 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nelsinho Tavares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Vito Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Estrela Dourada F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Vito Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelsinho Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Celso Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Nelsinho Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Estrela Dourada F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Novo Baependy had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
