Zé Augusto Tande started the match with the kick off. Chapadinho's Nildo Romero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Augusto Tande in the 4th minute of play. In the 7th minute Luisão Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luizão Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Nildo Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Chapadinho's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Augusto Tande came free, but Nildo Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th match minute, Chapadinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Romero to maneuver through the defense. Zé Augusto Tande might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nildo Romero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Augusto Tande ran back to his position shaking his head. Luizão Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 19th play minutes Luizão Rodrigues shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Nildo Romero and just under the crossbar into goal. Zé Augusto Tande's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nildo Romero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Gustavo Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chapadinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustavo Moreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arthur de Brito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute Gustavo Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luisão Leão hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Zé Augusto Tande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. The supporters of Chapadinho booed when Sopro F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ruy Tepedino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Sopro F.C.'s Arthur de Brito got control of the ball when Gustavo Moreira tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Luizão Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Sopro F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luizão Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. Zé Augusto Tande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nildo Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Augusto Tande in the 68th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Zé Augusto Tande got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Pedro Augusto Teixeira fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chapadinho's protests and gave Pedro Augusto Teixeira a yellow card for diving instead. Pedro Augusto Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After 79 minutes of play, Sopro F.C.'s Zé Augusto Tande made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nildo Romero was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zé Augusto Tande might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nildo Romero. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Augusto Tande ran back to his position shaking his head. Sopro F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
