After a defensive mix-up in Sopro F.C.'s zone, Carlinhos Paranaense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arthur de Brito came out of the goal and Carlinhos Paranaense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luizão Rodrigues got free with Jardel Matos in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Amílton Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlinhos Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 22nd minute, Amílton Maia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arthur de Brito was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Danilo Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Luizão Rodrigues struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Jardel Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sopro F.C.. If Luizão Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Augusto Tande received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Jardel Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, Sopro F.C.'s Zé Augusto Tande sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jardel Matos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Amílton Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Portuguesa Lions's Carlinhos Paranaense in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlinhos Paranaense to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 57 minutes, Luizão Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sopro F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Luizão Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jardel Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizão Rodrigues in the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Amílton Maia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arthur de Brito was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Arthur de Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlinhos Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amílton Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arthur de Brito having to interfere. 80 minutes into the game, Sopro F.C.'s Zé Augusto Tande nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jardel Matos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Carlinhos Paranaense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arthur de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlinhos Paranaense, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The Sopro F.C. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Portuguesa Lions's performance. The match ended with a win for Portuguesa Lions.
