After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Eusebio Txurio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flamengo Clube de Regatas's supporters rose to their feet, but Eusebio Txurio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Conrado Duarte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 38th minute Eusebio Txurio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conrado Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eusebio Txurio struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Conrado Duarte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flamengo Clube de Regatas. 47 minutes into the match, Flamengo Clube de Regatas's Luisão Vianna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Conrado Duarte narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

But to his dismay, Luisão Vianna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Dito Mangueira's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ivo Melo firmly grabbed it by the left post. The Flamengo Clube de Regatas fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Flamengo Clube de Regatas's Luisão Vianna looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 76th minute, Dito Mangueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 minutes of play, Flamengo Clube de Regatas's Luisão Vianna made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Conrado Duarte was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Luisão Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flamengo Clube de Regatas's Allan Hawkins managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Germano Nascimento in the 90 minute of the game. 91 minutes into the game, Eusebio Txurio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Conrado Duarte was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eusebio Txurio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Flamengo Clube de Regatas players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
