Orlando Nogueira made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Zézinho Fantini sent off a good shot on target. 41 minutes into the game, Oswaldo Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BYU Cougars ®'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Antuerpia the free kick. Geovanni Palmeira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Márcio Valle having to make a save. Márcio Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percy Messias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ediberto Paraense came up free with the goalie in the 49th minute, the Antuerpia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ediberto Paraense couldn't finish the play.

BYU Cougars ®'s goalkeeper couldn't reach when Geovanni Palmeira 90 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. In the 96thth minute of the game Noel Trigo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Antuerpia's Orlando Nogueira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Noel Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
