The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iuri Romero showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Souto in the 8th minute of play forced Cruxeiro AD's goalkeeper Iuri Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, 28 de Outubro's Michel Donatello got a free kick in the 12th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Vágner Dionísio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Edson Vasconcelos, 1-0. Hélder Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, César Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruxeiro AD's supporters rose to their feet, but César Massa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edson Vasconcelos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 47 minutes of play, Cruxeiro AD's Vágner Dionísio made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vágner Dionísio was the one to do the kick off. The throw-in from Dieguinho Pinheiro in the 54th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Cruxeiro AD's Gabriel Faria. When Cláudio Dionísio came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Cruxeiro AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cláudio Dionísio couldn't finish the play. After having played for 57 minutes, Cláudio Dionísio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruxeiro AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cláudio Dionísio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cláudio Dionísio in the 58th minute of play forced 28 de Outubro's goalkeeper Edson Vasconcelos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vágner Dionísio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edson Vasconcelos having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in 28 de Outubro's zone, Hélder Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edson Vasconcelos came out of the goal and Hélder Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 28 de Outubro's Edson Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vágner Dionísio in the 62nd minute of play. Vágner Dionísio scored 5-0 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edson Vasconcelos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vágner Dionísio in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. A collision led to Cruxeiro AD getting a freekick after 84 minutes play.
