Pedrinho Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélio Velloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. When Hélio Velloso fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tomasia's protests and gave Hélio Velloso a yellow card for diving instead. Zezito's Pedrinho Garcia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélio Velloso in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Tomasia's Hélio Velloso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedrinho Garcia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Dito Botelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrinho Garcia having to interfere. After having played for 30 minutes, Dito Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tomasia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dito Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Hélio Velloso came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Tomasia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hélio Velloso couldn't finish the play. Hélio Velloso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedrinho Garcia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. After 40 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tomasia! When the match had been going on for 41 minutes, Zezito's Dino da Cunha got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sydney Esteves. After 44 played minutes Zezito got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Amaral. Tomasia's Sydney Esteves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Tomasia from getting a goal against them.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zézinho de Alcântara to strike the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the match, Tomasia's goal looked a bit too open when Zézinho de Alcântara came free, but Sydney Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Hélio Velloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tomasia's supporters rose to their feet, but Hélio Velloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrinho Garcia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sydney Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zézinho de Alcântara in the 69th minute of the match. Hélio Velloso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Pedrinho Garcia made a huge save. Sydney Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 75 minutes, Artur Quintal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tomasia and the Zezito players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tomasia's Sydney Esteves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zézinho de Alcântara in the 77th minute of play. Pedrinho Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dito Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After having played for 79 minutes, Dito Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tomasia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dito Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Hélio Velloso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedrinho Garcia. Zezito's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hélio Velloso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Zezito's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Dito Botelho scored to the left of an out of position Pedrinho Garcia, making the score, 1-3.
