Spectators: 7232 (Terracing: 5426, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Zé Augusto Mesquita took the kick off in the first half of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Vítor Linares in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Fábio Coelho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Sebastião Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fábio Coelho came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Balco's Sebastião Gonçalves. But to his dismay, Sebastião Gonçalves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Silvinho Vasconcelos charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silvinho Vasconcelos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Caruaru FC's Silvinho Vasconcelos got a free kick in the 14th minute. Luís Fábio Coelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Vítor Linares in the 16th minute of the match. João Vítor Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Luís Fábio Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th match minute, Caruaru FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Marques to maneuver through the defense. Sebastião Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zé Augusto Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Friedrich Nietzsche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Caruaru FC's Zé Augusto Mesquita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Friedrich Nietzsche. That made the score 2-1 after 31 minutes of play. Luís Fábio Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Vítor Linares, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute Sebastião Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Fábio Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, João Vítor Linares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Fábio Coelho. Caruaru FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Vítor Linares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After 42 minutes, Sebastião Gonçalves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Balco and the Caruaru FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís da Cunha during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Balco getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Luís da Cunha hit a great ball.

In the 54th minute, Jorge Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If João Vítor Linares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Balco booed when Caruaru FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastião Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastião Gonçalves got free with Luís Fábio Coelho in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sebastião Gonçalves blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís Fábio Coelho having to make a save. João Vítor Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fábio Coelho having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Sebastião Gonçalves made a precise shot to the right of Luís Fábio Coelho. Caruaru FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. When the final whistle sounded Balco left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Caruaru FC.
