An unexpectedly hard shot by Elder Barbosa in the 10th minute of play forced Cruxeiro AD's goalkeeper Iuri Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cruxeiro AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Elder Barbosa scored to the left of an out of position Iuri Romero, making the score, 2-0. Amauri Leite stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vágner Dionísio's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After a rather tough play, Cruxeiro AD's Luan Neto got a free kick in the 24th minute. The supporters of CENTER FC booed when Cruxeiro AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elder Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Iuri Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute Vágner Dionísio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amauri Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Elder Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vágner Dionísio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Amauri Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hélder Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Cruxeiro AD's Iuri Romero got control of the ball when Maurinho Brasil tried to sneak it across the goal line. CENTER FC's Amauri Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cláudio Dionísio in the 48th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vágner Dionísio to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Cruxeiro AD booed when CENTER FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliézer Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elder Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iuri Romero having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, CENTER FC's goalkeeper Amauri Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cláudio Dionísio. After 67 played minutes CENTER FC got a freekick which was hit by Armando Britto. Elder Barbosa scored 3-0 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iuri Romero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vágner Dionísio, 78 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Vágner Dionísio scored 3-1 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amauri Leite, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 86th match minute, Cruxeiro AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vágner Dionísio to maneuver through the defense. Hélder Couto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Amauri Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Cruxeiro AD defense, Elder Barbosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iuri Romero. The Cruxeiro AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iuri Romero should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the CENTER FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
