The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulinho Carvalho during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 5 played minutes, Águia Azul Futebol Clube's Conrado Sanches shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Severino Ceresso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Águia Azul Futebol Clube reached it. When Ademir Almeida fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Spaboys 4EVER's protests and gave Ademir Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th minute, Ademir Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frederico Hermes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Severino Ceresso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Geraldo de Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Águia Azul Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geraldo de Queirós couldn't finish the play. Frederico Hermes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severino Ceresso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. When Marcos Guedes came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Spaboys 4EVER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcos Guedes couldn't finish the play. Benedito da Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcos Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Linhares having to interfere. Marcos Guedes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Linhares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Águia Azul Futebol Clube's João Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedito da Rocha in the 31st minute of play. A collision led to Águia Azul Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Falcão Peres hit a great ball. In the 37thth minute of the game Benedito da Rocha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Águia Azul Futebol Clube's João Linhares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 43rd minute, Ronaldinho Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benedito da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Marcos Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After 56 played minutes Spaboys 4EVER got a freekick which was hit by Percy Mazza. In the 57th minute of the match Conrado Sanches shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Severino Ceresso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Spaboys 4EVER's Percy Mazza got a free kick in the 58th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Frederico Hermes notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Spaboys 4EVER's Severino Ceresso. Severino Ceresso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Paulinho Carvalho hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Geraldo de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Severino Ceresso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frederico Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geraldo de Queirós in the 71st minute of play forced Spaboys 4EVER's goalkeeper Severino Ceresso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Severino Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geraldo de Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Paulinho Carvalho was shown his second yellow card after 75 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Spaboys 4EVER getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Paulinho Carvalho hit a great ball. Frederico Hermes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Ceresso having to interfere. If Geraldo de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Severino Ceresso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederico Hermes in the 85th minute of the match. Cido Tróia hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. If Frederico Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 93 minutes, Leopoldo Travassos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Spaboys 4EVER and the Águia Azul Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Águia Azul Futebol Clube's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
