E.C XV de Piracicaba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ibitiguaia the free kick. After 18 minutes of play, Ibitiguaia's Luiz Eduardo Aguiar made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ediberto Costa was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Tiaguinho Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Murillo Veloso made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Bebeto Donato sent off a good shot on target. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alexandre Vaz to strike the kick off in the second half. When Rogério Koehler fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored E.C XV de Piracicaba's protests and gave Rogério Koehler a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st minute, Ibitiguaia's Tiaguinho Seco ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ediberto Costa. Ediberto Costa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-4. Tiaguinho Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Ediberto Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The E.C XV de Piracicaba fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ibitiguaia were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
