Spectators: 7220 (Terracing: 5416, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ulisses Fontes started the match with the kick off. Flexx CS Team's Romário Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basílio Paulista in the 4th minute of play. Romário Magalhães came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Mararupa F.C.'s Basílio Paulista. But to his dismay, Basílio Paulista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Flexx CS Team's Zé da Rocha got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 15 minutes, Basílio Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mararupa F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Basílio Paulista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedro Luiz Gaúcho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Romário Magalhães made a huge save. Ulisses Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erivaldo Cardozo having to interfere. In the 25th minute of the match Caco Cunha shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erivaldo Cardozo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Ulisses Fontes came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Flexx CS Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulisses Fontes couldn't finish the play. Jano de Alcântara hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Flexx CS Team's Ulisses Fontes got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Mararupa F.C.'s Basílio Paulista in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Flexx CS Team's goalie prevented a goal. If Basílio Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute of the match, Basílio Paulista tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Romário Magalhães saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erivaldo Guimarães in the 42nd minute of play forced Mararupa F.C.'s goalkeeper Erivaldo Cardozo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute Basílio Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romário Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basílio Paulista to strike the kick off in the second half. Elivélton Aguiar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Romário Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erivaldo Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Erivaldo Cardozo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 1-2 became the score in the 75th minute when Ulisses Fontes elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Erivaldo Guimarães who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Erivaldo Cardozo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In a very dangerous position, a player in Flexx CS Team fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! José Carlos Pena walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 89 minutes into the match, Flexx CS Team's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Paulista came free, but Romário Magalhães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Mararupa F.C.'s Basílio Paulista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Romário Magalhães narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 93 minutes into the match, Mararupa F.C.'s goalkeeper Erivaldo Cardozo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erivaldo Guimarães. After a defensive mix-up in Mararupa F.C.'s zone, Zé da Rocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erivaldo Cardozo came out of the goal and Zé da Rocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Mararupa F.C.'s Délio França got a free kick in the 98th minute. Erivaldo Cardozo came out of the goal in the 99th minute to try and stop a shot by Flexx CS Team's Erivaldo Guimarães. But to his dismay, Erivaldo Guimarães quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The Flexx CS Team supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Flexx CS Team would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
