The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute, Allan Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Penha in the 13th minute of play forced Vintage FC's goalkeeper Percy Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Vintage FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Hudson Maia hit a great ball. A nice corner shot did that Erivaldo Penha got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Percy Oliveira quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 18th minute, Teodoro Teixeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Percy Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erivaldo Penha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the game, Vinícius Tavares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vintage FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mutante Rex FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Vintage FC's Vinícius Tavares got a free kick in the 28th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Vintage FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Nogueira came free, but Percy Oliveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Vintage FC booed when Mutante Rex FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amílton Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Vinícius do Vale made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Mutante Rex FC's Marcos Nogueira got a free kick in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sérgio Figueiredo to make the kick off. Percy Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodoro Teixeira in the 55th minute of play. After 55 played minutes Vintage FC got a freekick which was hit by Juninho Arce. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vintage FC's goalkeeper Percy Oliveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mutante Rex FC's Marcos Nogueira got his second yellow card of the match in the 65th minute. The referee ordered Marcos Nogueira off the ground. Marcos Nogueira hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 70th match minute, Mutante Rex FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erivaldo Penha to maneuver through the defense. Amílton Queirós struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Percy Oliveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Penha in the 82nd minute. Erivaldo Penha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Mutante Rex FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vinícius do Vale should have stopped the shot. Percy Oliveira made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when José Penha sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Sérgio Figueiredo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vinícius do Vale was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Percy Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Penha in the 97th minute of play. The Vintage FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
