Spectators: 7280 (Terracing: 5462, Seating: 1674, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tomás Linhares started the match with the kick off. Nildo Rosa's late challenge caught a Star Sports Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nildo Rosa helped the player get up and apologised. After 9 played minutes F C São Paulo got a freekick which was hit by Nildo Rosa. Star Sports Clube's Chicão Zanette got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oséias Tande took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Curcio. Carlos Curcio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Thiago Gaspar made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Arnaldo Magalhães sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséias Tande in the 31st minute of play forced Star Sports Clube's goalkeeper Carlos Curcio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luizinho Ribeiro got free with Thiago Gaspar in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes into the match, F C São Paulo's goalkeeper Thiago Gaspar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnaldo Magalhães. With his leg Thiago Gaspar managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when Star Sports Clube's Samuel Cardoso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chicão Zanette to make the kick off. When Anselmo do Vale came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Star Sports Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo do Vale couldn't finish the play. Thiago Gaspar came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Star Sports Clube's Chicão Zanette. But to his dismay, Chicão Zanette quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The audience was convinced that Chicão Zanette's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Gaspar was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Nildo Rosa thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Thiago Gaspar, a very annoying self made goal in the 61st minute which led to 3-1. Chicão Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Gaspar having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Afonso Mendonça made a precise shot to the right of Thiago Gaspar. F C São Paulo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Chicão Zanette might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thiago Gaspar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Chicão Zanette ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 87th minute Tomás Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Curcio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Star Sports Clube's Carlos Curcio got control of the ball when Oséias Tande tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carlos Curcio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Linhares in the 90th minute of play. After 94 played minutes Star Sports Clube got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldinho Sampaio. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Star Sports Clube fully deserved thier win.
