To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Maria Alvarenga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Gonçalo Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Punau SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonçalo Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tostão Tepedino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luciano Coelho struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Tostão Tepedino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Punau SS. Luís Barral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Tostão Tepedino made a huge save. Vicente Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Punau SS's Luciano Coelho got a free kick in the 41st minute. Fabrício Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naldo Bertassi having to interfere. GrimDeath's Vicente Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th match minute, Punau SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswaldo Vianna to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Punau SS's Naldo Bertassi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Punau SS from getting a goal against them. 92 minutes into the game, GrimDeath's Fabrício Maia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Naldo Bertassi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Fabrício Maia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Naldo Bertassi having to make a save. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
