The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Naldo Bertassi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 9th match minute, Punau SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Cabral to maneuver through the defense. 10 minutes into the match, Punau SS's goal looked a bit too open when Washington Silveira came free, but Naldo Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Virgílio Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Maria Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute José Maria Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgílio Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgílio Luz was a little too slow when José Maria Alvarenga got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 1-0. Punau SS's Naldo Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Washington Silveira in the 18th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Renato Cruz during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to O mais Temido Fc getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Renato Cruz hit a great ball. With a little luck, O mais Temido Fc's Virgílio Luz got control of the ball when Luís Barral tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luís Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Virgílio Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Barral got free with Virgílio Luz in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luís Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 minutes of play, O mais Temido Fc's Washington Silveira made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Naldo Bertassi was left in no man's land by his defense there! After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Renato Cruz made a kick off. After 55 played minutes O mais Temido Fc got a freekick which was hit by Vitinho Leme. When José Maria Alvarenga came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Punau SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Maria Alvarenga couldn't finish the play. Virgílio Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Maria Alvarenga in the 60th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Washington Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 67 minutes into the match, Punau SS's goal looked a bit too open when Renato Cruz came free, but Naldo Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. One of Punau SS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of O mais Temido Fc:s goal. Virgílio Luz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Barral's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. After 82 played minutes Punau SS got a freekick which was hit by José Maria Alvarenga. If Mauro Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Virgílio Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Maria Alvarenga in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 96th minute Renato Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naldo Bertassi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If José Maria Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. O mais Temido Fc's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
