Spectators: 7172 (Terracing: 5381, Seating: 1649, VIP seats: 142) Espinosense F.C's José dos Santos started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Augusto Koehler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filipe Mattos got free with Nelson Monteiro in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 9 played minutes Espinosense F.C got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Mattos. Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Augusto Koehler, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. The supporters of Martelet booed when Espinosense F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. José dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute of the match, Filipe Mattos got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nelson Monteiro was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. José Augusto Koehler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Espinosense F.C's Carlos Eduardo Marques got a free kick in the 27th minute. Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elder Magalhães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 32 played minutes Martelet got a freekick which was hit by Tiaguinho Moura. Espinosense F.C's Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elder Magalhães in the 35th minute of play. Elder Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Espinosense F.C's zone, Elder Magalhães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano came out of the goal and Elder Magalhães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Martelet's José Augusto Koehler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot 47 in the game by Filipe Mattos from a close distance when the talented Nelson Monteiro managed to make a qualified save. Martelet's players were relieved. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elder Magalhães stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Espinosense F.C getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Carlos Eduardo Marques hit a great ball. Nelson Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filipe Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After having played for 68 minutes, José Augusto Koehler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Martelet's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Augusto Koehler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elder Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If José Augusto Koehler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elder Magalhães in the 73rd minute of play forced Espinosense F.C's goalkeeper Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Elder Magalhães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. In the 77th minute Elder Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nelson Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José dos Santos in the 78th minute of play. When Filipe Mattos fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Espinosense F.C's protests and gave Filipe Mattos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 80th minute, Filipe Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute, Filipe Mattos made a precise shot to the right of Nelson Monteiro. Martelet's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. José Augusto Koehler made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 89thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 94th minute, Elder Magalhães reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano. The goal made the score 2-4. When the match was over Martelet could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Espinosense F.C throughout the match.
