Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Elder Magalhães started the match with the kick off. When José Augusto Koehler came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Martelet fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Augusto Koehler couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elder Magalhães in the 7th minute of play forced Ruilandia's goalkeeper Dinei Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nelson Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Mandrak in the 8th minute of the match. If Pedro Luís Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 14th minute of the match, Elder Magalhães tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dinei Neves saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dinei Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elder Magalhães in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Roger Maciel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ruilandia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Martelet the free kick. After 18 played minutes Ruilandia got a freekick which was hit by Roger Maciel. If Abelardo Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Elder Magalhães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dinei Neves was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. When Duarte Gomes came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Martelet fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duarte Gomes couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Ruilandia's Dinei Neves got control of the ball when José Augusto Koehler tried to sneak it across the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abelardo Mandrak to make the kick off. Luís Fábio Catarinense charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Fábio Catarinense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 52nd match minute, Martelet was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Fábio Catarinense to maneuver through the defense. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Martelet's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Artur Quadros was slow to take the kick. During this time Ruilandia's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Vladimir Tinoco heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When Artur Quadros fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ruilandia's protests and gave Artur Quadros a yellow card for diving instead. After 58 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ruilandia! The referee gave Martelet a penalty, 60 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Robinho da Fonseca, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ruilandia's Dinei Neves. 1-0. José Augusto Koehler might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dinei Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Augusto Koehler ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abelardo Mandrak in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nelson Monteiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Duarte Gomes hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Martelet's Luís Fábio Catarinense got his second yellow card of the match in the 85th minute. The referee ordered Luís Fábio Catarinense off the ground. In the 89th minute, Glauco Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute, Pedro Luís Andrade ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nelson Monteiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Abelardo Mandrak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Nelson Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Glauco Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. When Glauco Pena was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 99 minutes had been played. A collision led to Martelet getting a freekick after 100 minutes play. Glauco Pena hit a great ball. Pedro Luís Andrade's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nelson Monteiro firmly grabbed it by the left post. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
