Luiz Fernando de Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antônio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Sílvio Luiz Hermes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Luiz Fernando de Queiroz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antônio Costa in the 41st minute of the match. Jerônimo Velloso hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match.

The wind increased when Amadeu Linhares made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Amadeu Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arlindo Carioca in the 53rd minute of play. Jarbas de Lima struck a weak shot in the 55th minute.
