Ratquimby's supporters rose to their feet, but Murilo Figueiredo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Murilo Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filipe Mattos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bebeto Travassos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Bebeto Travassos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Filipe Mattos went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

52 minutes into the game, Christiano Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ratquimby's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Espinosense F.C the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ratquimby's Christiano Medeiros got a free kick in the 57th minute. Filipe Mattos succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 61st playminute. In the 65th minute, José dos Santos fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bebeto Travassos, passed just outside the right post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tião Sergipano couldn't finish the play. The Espinosense F.C players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
