Juvenal Ceresso came out of the goal and Júlio Gomes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Juvenal Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Gomes, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. After 10 minutes of play, Sabadini's Benedito Macedo made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juvenal Ceresso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bocaiuva's Juvenal Ceresso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Gomes in the 12th minute of play. If Benedito Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 19 minutes, Joel Proença managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bocaiuva's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Proença was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th minute of the match Jacinto Senna sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlos Alberto Linhares skillfully saved the ball. Pedrinho da Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedrinho da Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th minute, Pedrinho da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Benedito Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Bocaiuva's goalkeeper Juvenal Ceresso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benedito Macedo. In the 35th minute, Júlio Gomes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benedito Macedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juvenal Ceresso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Juvenal Ceresso made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Benedito Macedo sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st minute Júlio Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juvenal Ceresso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute, Joel Proença left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bocaiuva fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Júlio Gomes made a kick off. Benedito Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Juvenal Ceresso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Júlio Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th match minute, Bocaiuva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Arósio to maneuver through the defense. After 60 played minutes, Sabadini's Luiz Gustavo Cabral shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Juvenal Ceresso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sabadini reached it. If Júlio Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacinto Senna charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacinto Senna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bocaiuva! Carlos Alberto Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enio Monteiro in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Bocaiuva booed when Sabadini was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederico Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juvenal Ceresso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedito Macedo in the 81st minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Bocaiuva's goal looked a bit too open when Benedito Macedo came free, but Juvenal Ceresso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacinto Senna's shot from long distance in the 86th minute was not bad at all, but Sabadini's Carlos Alberto Linhares knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Benedito Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Sabadini booed when Bocaiuva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafim Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Gustavo Cabral, 96 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 101 minutes Bocaiuva's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luiz Gustavo Cabral who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Bocaiuva's goalie and right to Antônio Carlos Berger. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Bocaiuva's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Antônio Carlos Berger's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juvenal Ceresso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 101st minute of play. Sabadini were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Bocaiuva for a fine match.
