Kay Pop showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tarcisio Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After having played for 13 minutes, Conrado Arantes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nork Reina Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Conrado Arantes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Cururupu SS's Kerimhan Yağızer got a free kick in the 18th minute. The supporters of Cururupu SS booed when Nork Reina Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tarcisio Barbosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 36th minute by Mauro Bittencourt got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 39 minutes, Oséias Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 42 minutes, Gildo Veiga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nork Reina Team and the Cururupu SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Mané Neiva's late challenge caught a Cururupu SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With a little luck, Cururupu SS's Kay Pop got control of the ball when Conrado Arantes tried to sneak it across the goal line.
