In the 40th match minute, Cururupu SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséias Cearense to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Oséias Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cururupu SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Oséias Cearense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antônio Carlos Mesquita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Oséias Cearense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Norberto Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Kay Pop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mauro Bittencourt to make the kick off. Kléberson Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kay Pop having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, FC ALEGRETE's Ronaldo de Brito broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Kay Pop took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kléberson Novaes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mauro Bittencourt hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC ALEGRETE booed when Cururupu SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséias Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cururupu SS's Kay Pop proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Cururupu SS from getting a goal against them. In the 74th minute, Alfredinho Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kay Pop was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ronaldo de Brito. After a defensive mix-up in FC ALEGRETE's zone, Mauro Bittencourt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antônio Carlos Mesquita came out of the goal and Mauro Bittencourt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cururupu SS's Michel Lavoisier got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mauro Bittencourt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Antônio Carlos Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 90 minutes of play, FC ALEGRETE's Luís Araújo made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kay Pop was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience cheered when Ronaldo de Brito's long shot passed Kay Pop's right side. It was 0-5, 96 minutes into the match.
