The audience was convinced that Jefferson Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kay Pop was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. If Elói Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Leopoldo da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Davi Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jefferson Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kay Pop having to make a save. Davi Queirós struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Kay Pop didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xupetas. The crowd rose to their feet as Xupetas's Davi Queirós slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kay Pop. That made the score 2-0 after 38 minutes of play. The supporters of Cururupu SS booed when Xupetas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davi Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jefferson Costas short, quick shot in the 44thth minute got Kay Pop to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Elói Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jefferson Costa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 48thth minute, Kay Pop skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jefferson Costa made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Cururupu SS's zone, Jefferson Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kay Pop came out of the goal and Jefferson Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xupetas's Davi Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kay Pop showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jefferson Costa in the 62nd minute of the match. Jefferson Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Kay Pop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reynaldo Velloso struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Kay Pop didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xupetas. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jefferson Costa in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kay Pop prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 75 minutes into the game, Mauro Bittencourt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cururupu SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Xupetas the free kick. Mauro Bittencourt hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reynaldo Velloso couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Cururupu SS getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Oséias Cearense hit a great ball.
