In the 11th minute, Doru Bistreanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jânio Fantini during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 13 minutes into the game, Hélder Salgado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kohutavadisk Käpardid's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Escobar the free kick. After 13 played minutes Kohutavadisk Käpardid got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Salgado. 15 minutes into the match, Kohutavadisk Käpardid's goalkeeper Tadeu Recife had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Doru Bistreanu. In the 16th minute Clayton Gerson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeu Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Rodrigo de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cícero Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dagoberto Faria having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdo Motta to make the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Doru Bistreanu couldn't finish the play. In the 95th minute Clayton Gerson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeu Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Escobar players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
