Tales Barral charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tales Barral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Cururupu SS's Tales Barral got a free kick in the 77th minute. In the 77th minute of the match Fábio Montenegro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kay Pop skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 80 minutes, João Carlos Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thiago Leite came out of the goal and Oséias Cearense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 93 minutes, Oséias Cearense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cururupu SS and the Real Sociedad players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Cássio Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Cururupu SS lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
