With a couple of smart ball manuevers André Luiz Araújo in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Germano Sena saved AA Serginho MZC from getting behind. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

André Luiz Araújo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 55th playminute. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, André Luiz Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C Parnaibense's supporters rose to their feet, but André Luiz Araújo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Germano Sena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Germano Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl Vaz in the 77th minute of play. André Luiz Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Germano Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to AA Serginho MZC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Edson Pontes hit a great ball. The referee ordered Raimundo Gonçalves off the ground. After a rather tough play, AA Serginho MZC's Raimundo Gonçalves got a free kick in the 96th minute. If André Luiz Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the final whistle sounded S.C Parnaibense left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AA Serginho MZC.
