After a defensive mix-up in São Paulo FC's zone, Nilson Perez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cipriano Vander came out of the goal and Nilson Perez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Enio Cearense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Durval de Queirós's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Juventus FC's zone, Wanderson Lopez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enio Cearense came out of the goal and Wanderson Lopez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Juventus FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while São Paulo FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
