Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Raúl Vaz kicked off to start the match. André Luiz Araújo's late challenge caught a Tamboata's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Tamboata's zone, Raúl Vaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovani Correia came out of the goal and Raúl Vaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raúl Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the match, Tamboata's goal looked a bit too open when André Luiz Araújo came free, but Giovani Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 31 played minutes Tamboata got a freekick which was hit by Flávio Carvalho. Rubinho Quadros made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Carlos Fernando Silveira sent off a good shot on target. Aníbal Moreno charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aníbal Moreno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Aníbal Moreno hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Tamboata defense, André Luiz Araújo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Giovani Correia. The Tamboata fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Giovani Correia should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luiz Araújo in the 42nd minute of play forced Tamboata's goalkeeper Giovani Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Fernando Silveira was the one to do the kick off. André Luiz Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Giovani Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 53 minutes, André Luiz Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.C Parnaibense's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Luiz Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee ignored Tamboata's protests and gave Ernesto Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Luiz Araújo couldn't finish the play. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for S.C Parnaibense! S.C Parnaibense's André Luiz Araújo got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. André Luiz Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 96th minute of the match Ernesto Loureiro completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ernesto Loureiro a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Tamboata getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Ernesto Loureiro hit a great ball. The S.C Parnaibense supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing S.C Parnaibense would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
