Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Gualter Pombal started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 7th match minute, Tamboata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. Giovani Correia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gualter Pombal went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Ernesto Loureiro hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Tamboata's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Paulão Mangueira in the 19th minute. The corner led Tamboata's Paulão Mangueira to fire away a dangerous shot which Cafu Martins despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 23rd match minute, Tamboata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. Cafu Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aníbal Moreno in the 28th minute of the match. Giovani Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gualter Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 35th minute Aníbal Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu Martins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Artur da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giovani Correia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gualter Pombal's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laerte Sousa during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 46th minute, Laerte Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

After 55 played minutes Tamboata got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Loureiro. Giovani Correia came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Santa Cruz do Sul's Artur da Mata. But to his dismay, Artur da Mata quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 60 minutes into the match, Santa Cruz do Sul's Baltazar Cruz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Giovani Correia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Artur da Mata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Giovani Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Giovani Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gualter Pombal, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. A hard shot 66 in the game by Baltazar Cruz from a close distance when the talented Giovani Correia managed to make a qualified save. Tamboata's players were relieved. Aníbal Moreno charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aníbal Moreno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Tamboata getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Aníbal Moreno hit a great ball. In the 70th minute, Gualter Pombal reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Giovani Correia. The goal made the score 0-3. Carlos Fernando Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cafu Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Moreno in the 84th minute of play. Aníbal Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Cafu Martins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
