Glauco Pinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aílton Donato to make the kick off. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 59 minutes into the game, Henrique Eger recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ernesto Neiva. Henrique Eger showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abelardo das Neves in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Glauco Pinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlinhos Munhoz charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlinhos Munhoz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Panama SS getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Panama SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laerte Linares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot by Gil Fernandez from long distance, 87 minutes into the match, got Ernesto Neiva's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Laerte Linares came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Panama SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laerte Linares couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, Panama SS's Ernesto Neiva threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aílton Donato, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Raúl Zonta got his second yellow card in the match during the 91st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 92nd match minute, Revolution FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Zonta to maneuver through the defense. If Umberto Bezerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
