José Paulo Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo das Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. José Paulo Pena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hernani Nunes went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 14th match minute, Chuvarada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guto Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute, Luiz Paulo Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Paulo Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Umberto Bezerra in the 18th minute of the match. Abelardo das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rdth minute of the game Abelardo das Neves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chuvarada's José Paulo Pena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abelardo das Neves in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Paulo Pena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Abelardo das Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Paulo Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernani Nunes in the 33rd minute of play. In the 40th minute of the match Chuvarada got a corner. Revolution FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Carlos Alberto Soares ran over to the corner to take the kick. Carlos Alberto Soares made a great header on Chuvarada's corner, it was just that Revolution FC's Ernesto Neiva managed to reach the ball for a save. After the first half Revolution FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Josué Saldanha to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovânio Moreno in the 52nd minute of play forced Revolution FC's goalkeeper Ernesto Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abelardo das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Paulo Pena having to interfere. Ernesto Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josué Saldanha in the 56th minute of play. José Paulo Pena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abelardo das Neves in the 59th minute. José Paulo Pena made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Abelardo das Neves sent off a good shot on target. Marcus Aguiar charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcus Aguiar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Chuvarada's Marcus Aguiar got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Revolution FC's Ernesto Neiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josué Saldanha in the 65th minute of play. Hernani Nunes struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. José Paulo Pena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Revolution FC. Abelardo das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Paulo Pena having to interfere. A collision led to Revolution FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Kiko Guedes hit a great ball. Carlos Alberto Soares, 74 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A hard shot 78 in the game by Abelardo das Neves from a close distance when the talented José Paulo Pena managed to make a qualified save. Chuvarada's players were relieved. Abelardo das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Falcão Domingues hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Revolution FC defense, Josué Saldanha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernesto Neiva. The Revolution FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernesto Neiva should have stopped the shot. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
