The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 42nd minute, Guto Motta had to leave the field with a concussion. Pedro Augusto Meirelles charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The Phoênnyx fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arthur Corrêa should have stopped the shot. When the match was over Corinthians could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Phoênnyx throughout the match.
