After a defensive mix-up in Trinity's zone, Dráuzio Travassos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ediberto Dias came out of the goal and Dráuzio Travassos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernesto Barral charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernesto Barral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Bentopolis booed when Trinity was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Barral didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute César Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ediberto Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dráuzio Travassos might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ediberto Dias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dráuzio Travassos ran back to his position shaking his head. When César Carvalho came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Bentopolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that César Carvalho couldn't finish the play. Dino Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Emerson Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anderson de Medeiros in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emerson Veiga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ediberto Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from César Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Nilton de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dráuzio Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dráuzio Travassos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bentopolis's Dráuzio Travassos got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bentopolis's Emerson Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson de Medeiros in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráuzio Travassos in the 57th minute of play forced Trinity's goalkeeper Ediberto Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emerson Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dino Palmeira in the 58th minute of the match. Ediberto Dias made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when César Carvalho sent off a good shot on target. Bentopolis's Amadeu da Silveira suffered a sore foot after 90 minutes and couldn't finish the game. During the 90th minute of the match Ernesto Barral completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ernesto Barral a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 92 played minutes Trinity got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Barral. After 95 minutes, Dráuzio Travassos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bentopolis and the Trinity players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 played minutes Bentopolis got a freekick which was hit by Dráuzio Travassos.
