The supporters of Trinity booed when Gomes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmílson Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trinity's Dino Palmeira got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Anderson de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anderson de Medeiros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Charles Pirani read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Gomes's Charles Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson de Medeiros in the 14th minute of play. If Anderson de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Zé Paulo Goiano came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Gomes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Paulo Goiano couldn't finish the play. If Ernesto Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Paulo Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Charles Pirani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Palmeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 39th minute Anderson de Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Pirani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Paulo Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ediberto Dias having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zé Paulo Goiano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Trinity was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro Ortiz to maneuver through the defense. Ediberto Dias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Guedes, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 64 minutes into the game, Amauri Fontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gomes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trinity the free kick. The referee gave Trinity a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gabriel Antunes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gomes's Charles Pirani. 0-1. In the 75th match minute, Gomes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yuri Prado to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gomes's goalkeeper Charles Pirani, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 85 played minutes Trinity got a freekick which was hit by Samuca Esteves. Cleiton Trigo tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Ediberto Dias. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 88th minute. In the 95th minute there was a penalty for Gomes. Amauri Fontes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ediberto Dias. 2-1. Alessandro Ortiz hit a great freekick 100 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, Gomes could leave the field as winners, despite Trinity having more of the ball for most of the match.
