José Pedro Mangueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte Antunes in the 6th minute of the match. The Claretiana fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Claretiana's Laerte Antunes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Paulista FC's José Pedro Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Eduardo Bezerra in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute of the match, Telmo Vergílio got a very nice opportunity to score, but João Francisco Galvão was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Claretiana's João Francisco Galvão got control of the ball when Telmo Vergílio tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 20 minutes of play, Claretiana's Carlos Eduardo Bezerra made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Pedro Mangueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! José Pedro Mangueira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laerte Antunes went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. When Claretiana's Laerte Antunes in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paulista FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 32 played minutes Paulista FC got a freekick which was hit by Geovânio Vianna. In the 35th minute, Carlos Eduardo Bezerra made a precise shot to the right of José Pedro Mangueira. Paulista FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. When Claretiana's Carlos Eduardo Bezerra in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Horácio da Costa hit a great ball. In the 44th match minute, Paulista FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Telmo Vergílio to maneuver through the defense. After 47 minutes Paulista FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Charles de Senna who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Claretiana's corner Charles de Senna fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and José Pedro Mangueira quite easily take care of the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Carlos Eduardo Bezerras short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got José Pedro Mangueira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 59th minute, one of Claretiana:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Claretiana. Claretiana:s João Francisco Galvão showed great skill when he stopped Luiz de Queiroz:s penalty. In the 62nd match minute, Paulista FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz de Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Eduardo Bezerras short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got José Pedro Mangueira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Paulista FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Geovânio Vianna hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Laerte Antunes put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of José Pedro Mangueira. Telmo Vergílio charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Telmo Vergílio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Paulista FC's Telmo Vergílio got a free kick in the 77th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laerte Antunes in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Pedro Mangueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Claretiana's Laerte Antunes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of José Pedro Mangueira. That made the score 0-7 after 81 minutes of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Paulista FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! The audience was convinced that Laerte Antunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Pedro Mangueira was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Laerte Antunes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Pedro Mangueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. With his leg José Pedro Mangueira managed to avoid a goal in the 94thth minute, when Claretiana's Carlos Eduardo Bezerra fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Laerte Antunes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 99th minute. Claretiana's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 0-9 became the score in the 99th minute when Carlos Eduardo Bezerra elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.
