Kiko Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Cardozo's Samuel Cabral got a free kick in the 14th minute. Juarês Cordeiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charles Pirani. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juarês Cordeiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Cardozo's Renato Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo Goiano in the 19th minute of play. A collision led to Cardozo getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Clóvis Vides hit a great ball. Charles Pirani was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Juarês Cordeiro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Cardozo's Juarês Cordeiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Charles Pirani. That made the score 2-0 after 30 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Samuel Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cardozo's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel Cabral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charles Pirani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gomes's Charles Pirani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frédson Marinho in the 41st minute of play. Clóvis Vides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Pirani having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gomes's zone, Juarês Cordeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charles Pirani came out of the goal and Juarês Cordeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zé Paulo Goiano to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Samuel Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Charles Pirani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Cardozo fans' excitement grew in the 53rd match minute when Cardozo's Juarês Cordeiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 58 minutes into the match, Kiko Gonçalves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Charles Pirani. Gomes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kiko Gonçalves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Pedro Paulo Guedes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Renato Quirino having to make a save. After 63 played minutes Gomes got a freekick which was hit by Romeu Santana. After some careless play in the Gomes defense, Kiko Gonçalves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Charles Pirani. The Gomes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Charles Pirani should have stopped the shot. Frédson Marinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Charles Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Arthur Guedes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kiko Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Charles Pirani having to interfere. Juarês Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Charles Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Juarês Cordeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gomes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty! Jano Meira placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Gomes's Zé Paulo Goiano got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juarês Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Charles Pirani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Charles Pirani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frédson Marinho in the 98th minute of play. Cardozo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
