The supporters of Cardozo booed when Paulista FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horácio da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paulista FC's goalkeeper José Pedro Mangueira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Samuel Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Mangueira having to interfere. There was no doubt that Cardozo were the better team. Cardozo's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
