João Augusto Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Veiga having to interfere. Emerson Veiga didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 13th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. In the last second Emerson Veiga throw himself and got hold of the ball when Márcio Neves in the 16thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Márcio Neves was the one to do the kick off. When Magno Souza came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Nukengo SC fans jumped to their feet. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Márcio Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nukengo SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Márcio Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emerson Veiga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 76th minute Sílvio Dante shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Márcio Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Márcio Neves in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emerson Veiga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Bentopolis's zone, Márcio Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emerson Veiga came out of the goal and Márcio Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Faustão Bertassi hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Magno Souza got in the 88th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Emerson Veiga handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Nukengo SC's Márcio Neves got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emerson Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Márcio Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 89th minute, José Paulo Donato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Nukengo SC were the better team. Nukengo SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
