Telmo Lima started the match with the kick off. Willian de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Telmo Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Augusto Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Célio Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. If Célio Coutinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute, Luís Fernando Schmidt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Caco Pena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Willian de Salles made a huge save. When BNU FC's Luís Fernando Schmidt in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Benevides's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BNU FC the free kick. In the 40th match minute, Benevides was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrique Veloso to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Benevides's Diamantino Maia seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Diamantino Maia the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Benevides protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Diamantino Maia had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 42nd minute of the game. One of Benevides:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of BNU FC:s goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Célio Coutinho was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes of play, BNU FC's Luís Fernando Schmidt made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Augusto Carneiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thomás de Amaral during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thomás de Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute of the match Nestor Vieira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Augusto Carneiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 58th minute Caco Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willian de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Fernando Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Augusto Carneiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célio Coutinho in the 63rd minute of play. Luís Fernando Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Carneiro having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caco Pena in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Willian de Salles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luís Fernando Schmidt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Augusto Carneiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Fernando Schmidt in the 73rd minute. A hard shot 76 in the game by Cléberson Souto from a close distance when the talented Augusto Carneiro managed to make a qualified save. Benevides's players were relieved. With a little luck, Benevides's Augusto Carneiro got control of the ball when Luís Fernando Schmidt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luís Fernando Schmidt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Carneiro having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. BNU FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
