When Savas EC's Marcelinho do Nascimento in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Rubens Neto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chiquinho Quadros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Dário Aparecido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelinho do Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Rubens Neto came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Chiquinho Quadros could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elói Cabral in the 57th minute of play forced Savas EC's goalkeeper Chiquinho Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elói Cabral struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Chiquinho Quadros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jaraaua. Chiquinho Quadros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elói Cabral in the 72nd minute of the match. Narciso Nascimento might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dário Aparecido. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Narciso Nascimento ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Jaraaua booed when Savas EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaraaua's Elói Cabral got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Savas EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rubens Neto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Rubens Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Chiquinho Quadros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Savas EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Jaraaua were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
