In the 7th minute Erasmo Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerson Valadares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 11 minutes, Pedrão Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jacarecoara SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedrão Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Osvaldo Ferreira came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Jacarecoara SS's Rony Pimenta. But to his dismay, Rony Pimenta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Erasmo Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Gerson Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedrão Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Ferreira having to interfere. Jacarecoara SS:s Gerson Valadares showed great skill when he stopped Marcelo Lira:s penalty. Reynaldo Baiano hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. S.C. The Trashmen's Erasmo Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erasmo Messias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Zé Jacinto fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jacarecoara SS's protests and gave Zé Jacinto a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Jacarecoara SS fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! After 45 minutes Jacarecoara SS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marcelo Lira who took care of the corner kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dário Sabóia was the one to do the kick off. The Trashmen got a freekick which was hit by Reinaldo Netto. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by S.C. The Trashmen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Zé Jacinto was slow to take the kick. During this time Jacarecoara SS's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Jacarecoara SS's Zé Jacinto to fire away a dangerous shot which Osvaldo Ferreira despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Reinaldo Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Gerson Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aníbal Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Osvaldo Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Jacarecoara SS's goalkeeper Gerson Valadares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erasmo Messias. The attack was good, but when Dário Sabóia in the 74th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 77th minute Reynaldo Baiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerson Valadares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Erasmo Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacarecoara SS's Pedrão Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Rony Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 90th minute of the match Reynaldo Baiano completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Reynaldo Baiano a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 91st minute, Reynaldo Baiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erasmo Messias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerson Valadares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. S.C. The Trashmen were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
